We carry a variety of used, new, and vintage instruments in-store. Check out our Sales page for the complete list of instruments currently available.


No, we do not currently offer instrument rentals of any kind.


Many of our second-hand instruments are on consignment. We only purchase instruments directly if:

  • the instrument is in good repair and playable
  • the instrument is low in stock 
  • the seller presents a valid ID, no exceptions

Call or come by the store with specific instrument questions.


Come by the store with your instrument(s) during our regular business hours and complete our Consignment Form.


Consignment Info:

  • Make, model, and serial # for each instrument
  • If you’d like to sell the case with the instrument, please bring it along
  • Consider the selling price (our sales associates can assist with this)
  • Note: Any required repairs will be paid by the store and reimbursed from your share of the instrument sale



Yes. A deposit of 20% of the instrument sale price is required to remove an instrument from the sales floor with 60 days to pay the remaining balance. The deposit will be forfeit and the instrument replaced on the sales floor if instrument is not paid off and picked up within 60 days.


We stock a wide variety of musical accessories and instrument gear including: 

  • guitar strings, straps, tuners, picks, etc.
  • clarinet and saxophone reeds
  • mouthpieces
  • cords, cables, and adapters
  • drumsticks, drum heads, and stands
  • cymbals and cymbal pads
  • music instruction books and sheet music

Please call the store if you’re looking for a particular item or brand.



We’ve partnered with Jeff Krause of Treehouse Music Lessons to offer music lessons in store. Check out his website at treehouselessons.com for rates and scheduling.


Yes. We work with two exceptional local music technicians for instrument repairs. They specialize in strings, brass, and woodwind instruments.


Repairs are not made instantly in store; we will complete a Repair Tag, then contact the technician for pickup. The technician will contact you to confirm repairs and quote a price. When the repair is complete, you can pick up your instrument and pay for the repairs at The Peculiar Note.


We are currently only offering our Premium Guitar Tune-Up (with strings, restringing, and tuning) on Saturdays. Please call ahead to confirm we have your preferred strings in stock and to reserve a time.


We can! Give us a call, and we’ll figure it out how to get an instrument to you across town or across the country!


Yes, we have free parking available in our lot as well as free street parking nearby.
